Heat not burn. Why IQOS and lil SOLID?
In this article we will talk about IQOS and lil as a tobacco heating systems, why heating is the basis of this system. How is it different from burning? Why are IQOS and lil a better alternative than continuing to smoke?
Tobacco on the tip of the cigarette burn under the influence of high temperatures, producing a large amount of smoke containing harmful substances.

IQOS heats tobacco instead of burning it, providing nicotine, the taste and satisfaction of real tobacco. Nicotine is addictive, BUT the main cause of smoking-related illnesses are the harmful substances present in cigarette smoke.

IQOS does not produce tar3, because it heats the tobacco instead of burning it by delivering nicotine, the true taste and satisfaction of real tobacco. Meanwhile, the main cause of smoking-related issues is not nicotine, but the burning process and tar.
Tar is the residue from smoke after a cigarette is burned. Contrary to cigarettes, IQOS produces aerosol residue that is fundamentally different from tar and consists of significantly lower levels of harmful chemicals.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a toxic gas that is produced as a result of burning organic matter, in particular while burning a cigarette.
Cigarettes produce high amounts of carbon monoxide, IQOS doesn’t. IQOS heats tobacco, producing on average 98% less carbon monoxide (CO) and significantly lower levels of other harmful chemicals compared to cigarettes. 4
To enhance our knowledge and understanding the impact of IQOS on indoor air quality we conducted studies simulating “real-world” conditions in an environmentally controlled room.5
Our study shows that, because IQOS does not burn tobacco and it does not generate smoke and it drastically reduces levels of harmful substances like carbon monoxide, it does not negatively impact indoor air quality. This means that the few compounds we nevertheless detected were found at very low concentrations and far below the maximum exposure levels defined in existing air quality guidelines.

Important information: The absence of tar does not mean that IQOS is risk free. IQOS provides nicotine which is addictive.
