Small steps , Bigger change

Recycling is not just a trend, it is a lifestyle that can become a part of your daily life. By changing our small habits for better ones, we can shape a new, eco-conscious world that will contribute to the preservation of the environment and waste management.

For that reason, Philip Morris Armenia launches its Circular Programme. The Programme houses 2 pillars: one for device and one for consumables with the objective of educating responsible disposal of our products post use and providing simple and convenient solutions to collect and return used consumables and end of life devices for recycling.

2 main directions of the Programme:

♻️ Our Consumables Circular Programme helps to reduce waste so that we can recycle used sticks, pods and disposables capturing materials that can be made into new products or energy production.
♻️ Our Device Circular Programme helps to return old and end of life devices for recycling. We will make sure the materials are properly recycled.

What can be returned for Recycling .

Why does it matter ?

Recycling returned IQOS™ and VEEV devices and consumables reduces unnecessary waste, including plastic and electronic waste and dispose correctly critical components like the batteries.
Below you can find the details for each type:

Device/Disposable Recycling: Reason is Battery

Batteries are considered safe for people and nature as long as the casing is sealed. If a battery ends up in a garbage its toxic contents can be released into the environment. They can pollute up to 20 square meters of soil and up to 400 liters of groundwater. Eventually it is coming back to us as a pollution and influencing our everyday life. That is why it is important to take the small step and return the device for recycling.

Consumable Recycling: Reason is Filtr and acetate

Sticks consist of tobacco leaves, paper wrapper, filter (compressed film made from corn starch and sugar cane) and acetate filter inside the stick. The first two elements, tobacco and paper, are organic and fully bio materials, requiring no special disposal or recycling. The acetate part of the filter therefore requires environmental disposal or recycling. The filter is organic and biodegradable, but it takes time to naturally degrade, so we recommend that you dispose of it properly.

Pods: Reason is plastic case

Used pods from VEEV one are less harmful for the environment than disposable e-cigarettes with built-in batteries. However, you shouldn't throw empty pods in the trash. The case is made of plastic that needs to be recycled or properly disposed. Also inside the pod there are metal elements that can be reused.
